The Southampton Pet Hospital has been serving Saugeen Shores area pets since 1984. Dr. Jeff Berry is the current owner of the practice and has been since 2001. He is a graduate of the Ontario Veterinary College and is also a Certified Specialist in canine and feline medicine. Dr. Sarah Charron joined the team in 2009 as Dr. Berry’s associate. She is also an OVC grad and has a strong interest in animal behavior.
Our hospital serves as a referral center for Grey and Bruce counties. Dr. Berry has an extensive background in orthopedic surgery and does a majority of the fracture and cruciate ligament repairs for the area. We are also one of the only local clinics with an ultrasound machine and perform a number of referral ultrasounds. In addition to this, we offer several medicine specialty services as well, including blood transfusions, a variety of canine and feline cancer treatments, and endoscopy of the respiratory and gastrointestinal tracts.
Southampton Pet Hospital is a full service regular veterinary clinic as well. Preventative medicine is the key to pets living long and happy lives and we are here to make that happen. From the first puppy/kitten visit right up through to senior pets we are there every step of the way making vaccine, diet, behaviour and wellness blood work recommendations. We offer a full range of general surgery from spays and neuters to dental x-rays and extractions and all of our patients undergoing anesthetic receive pre-operative blood work and I.V. fluids during the procedure as well as comprehensive pain control. Puppy socialization classes take place throughout the year and we have an on site groomer for dogs and cats.
